“Subject: Misclassified as adult content - mamedica.com (CQC-registered clinic, legal prescription medicine) Hi, I'm getting in touch on behalf of Mamedica, a CQC-registered medical clinic. Our patients are telling us they can't reach our site on your network, and we think it's been misclassified as adult or illicit drug content by an automated filter. The domains are: mamedica.com app.mamedica.com I suspect something has matched on the word "cannabis" without any regard to context, so it's worth being clear about what this actually is. Cannabis-based products for medicinal use have been legal prescription medicines in the UK since 1 November 2018, when they were moved to Schedule 2 of the Misuse of Drugs Regulations 2001. They're prescribed and dispensed exactly like any other Schedule 2 medicine - morphine, oxycodone, methylphenidate. Nothing about this is a grey area. For the specifics: - Mamedica Limited is registered with and inspected by the CQC. Provider ID 1-<phone removed>, rated Good at its most recent assessment. - Under UK law, only a specialist consultant on the GMC Specialist Register can initiate one of these prescriptions. Ours work across pain, neurology, psychiatry, palliative care and cancer. - Dispensing is handled solely by Mamedica Dispensary Limited, GPhC registration 9011846. The site itself sells nothing to the public. There's no catalogue, no pricing, nothing purchasable, and no recreational or cultivation content anywhere on it. It's a clinic site and a patient portal - logging in, booking appointments, joining video consultations with a doctor, paying for prescriptions. It's also worth noting that patient portals for clinics prescribing other Schedule 2 medicines, like opioid pain services or ADHD clinics, aren't filtered. We seem to be treated differently because of which medicine is involved rather than anything on the site. The practical effect is that patients - many of them disabled, with chronic pain or neurological conditions, and reliant on mobile data - can't attend appointments or get medication that's been lawfully prescribed to them. Could you review the classification and unblock both domains? I understand this is a Stage 1 appeal under the BBFC Mobile Classification Framework with a five working day target, and we'd rather resolve it with you than take it to the BBFC for adjudication. There is no adult content, gambling, violence, or any other material on the site that would justify filtering. It is a family friendly education service, and its main audience is parents managing their children's learning and schools using the platform in classrooms. The block causes real problems for legitimate users. Parents on this network cannot reach the site to manage their accounts, review the privacy policy, contact support, or sign up for their children's education. “Dear EE Content Classification Team, I am the Managing Director of Bristol CBD (www.bristolcbd.co.uk), an established UK retailer of legal CBD food supplements. I am contacting you to request a manual review and reclassification of our website because EE's Adult Content Control is currently restricting access to it. We have reproduced the issue on a mobile connection with adult content restrictions enabled. When attempting to access www.bristolcbd.co.uk, the user first receives an SSL/certificate privacy warning. If they proceed, they are then taken to EE's 18+ Content Control page. When adult content restrictions are switched off, our website loads immediately and normally, and the SSL warning also disappears. This strongly suggests that the apparent certificate issue is occurring as part of the filtering/interception process rather than being an SSL problem with our website. Bristol CBD is a legitimate UK business selling legal CBD food supplements. Our relevant ingestible CBD products have been submitted through the Food Standards Agency Novel Food process. We do not sell recreational cannabis or illegal controlled drugs, and our website does not contain pornography or other material that would ordinarily be regarded as adult content. We appreciate that some food supplements, including CBD products, may carry advice that they are not suitable for persons under 18. However, we do not believe that a product carrying an under-18 suitability warning should in itself result in the retailer's entire website being classified as adult content. Age-related suitability guidance is found on a range of food supplements and other consumer products without necessarily making the websites selling those products adult-only websites. We have also carried out comparison testing on the same connection with other established UK CBD retailers selling very similar products. This demonstrates that Vodafone is not applying a blanket restriction to all UK CBD retailers, all CBD food-supplement retailers, or all websites selling full-spectrum or whole-plant CBD products. We therefore believe BristolCBD.co.uk may have been incorrectly categorised. There's no recreational content, and nothing about cultivation, sourcing or unlawful supply. It's also worth noting that clinic websites for other Schedule 2 medicines - opioid pain services, ADHD clinics - aren't filtered, and those describe the medicines they prescribe too.
