“British Naturism (bn.org.uk) is the website of the UK’s national naturist organisation. It promotes non-sexual social nudity, body acceptance, wellbeing, recreation and community. It is not a pornography site and is not intended for sexual arousal. Our content policies explicitly prohibit sexual imagery, sexually explicit material, and images focusing on genitalia. The site is therefore being incorrectly classified by automated filtering systems because it discusses naturism and nudity in a lawful, non-sexual context. The Online Safety Act 2023 defines pornographic content as material produced “solely or principally for the purpose of sexual arousal”, which does not describe British Naturism’s website or podcast. We therefore request that bn.org.uk be reclassified and unblocked as a non-adult lifestyle/recreation website.”

The Cyber Helpline is a non-profit organisation who provide expert help and advice for victims of cyber crimes and stalking. This covers ‘revenge porn’ and as such, we have a number of resources on the site in the context of what to do if you are a victim of ‘revenge porn’ and how to report it. However, It has been brought to our attention by a number of users trying to access our helpline, that the site is blocked as a result of being wrongly categorised as a ‘porn’ site through their telecom provider (namely BT). As you can imagine this is quite concerning that users who need help and access to our helpline are unable to get our support due to the implemented blocks.
