Request submitted to BBFC

Original Complaint:
-------------------
Good afternoon,
It has recently come to our attention that the Jersey Hemp website - https://hemp.je - was mistakenly classified as adult content on the three network and we are concerned that the case may be the same on other networks in the UK.
If this is indeed the case, we believe that this classification is in error and so we wish to appeal the status of the Jersey Hemp website.
Jersey Hemp cultivates and processes industrial hemp into raw materials and end products under licence from the Government of Jersey, selling a range of hempseed products and THC-free CBD oils to the UK and Europe from the hemp.je website.
We would appreciate your assistance in resolving this matter so that our customers may access the Jersey Hemp website without restriction.
Kind regards,
Simon Harrison.

BBFC response

Hello,
Thanks for referring this to us.
The BBFC examined the website http://hemp.je on 03/03/21.
We noted that the url links to a website for an online retailer of a range
of CBD based products. Its products are referred to as nutritional
supplements, and not as medicine. We did not find any material that we
would classify 18. As a result, based on the content available to view on
this date, we would not recommend the site be placed behind adult
filters.
We will notify the Mobile Network Operators of this adjudication.
Thanks,
Jonny
